Little Pig Little Pig!!!

Randy and I took Andrew down to a neighbors house last night for a quick little visit and when we got home the girls ran out of the house and Andrew ran in......by himself........and locked the front door. I didn't think anything about him going inside because he hasn't ever locked or unlocked doors before. Randy turns to me and says I hope he didn't lock the door, as we realize that neither of us have keys and since we haven't fixed the garage since my little accident there was no way we were getting in that way. I reached for the door and it really was locked, the little stinker. so I knocked and said let us in. Andrew says....not by hair on chin chin chin. I turned and looked at Randy and we just busted out laughing. It was so funny. Then we still had to convince him to unlock the door. His other game is knock knock whos there and then he always just says someone in the family so we had to go through everyone's name and then he finally unlocked the door. what a silly little pig he is!

6 Years????

6 years ago today Dad passed away in the quiet of a Sunday morning just as the sun was rising over the mountains. It was such a beautiful morning and a wonderful experience to be there with him and he passed to the other side of the veil. I can hardly believe how much our lives and families have changed over the last 6 years. It has been wonderful and hard and at the same time. I often wonder what it would be like if he were still here and how much he would love to play with the kids and see them grow. I have had some wonderful experiences over the last 6 years that remind me how much he loves us and though he is not here he is still watching out for us and he feels our heartaches and I feel that he would hug us at times if it was possible. I just feel so blessed to know that we will be with him again as an eternal family. He will be resurrected and be whole. People think what an awful time of the year to lose a loved one, but as we give thanks this time of year this is such a great reminder for me to be thankful not only for the wonderful blessings of home and the things in life we are able to enjoy, but thankfulness for the fullness of the gospel. The peace and joy it can offer us in our lives, and most of all our Saviors atoning sacrifice that makes it possible for us to become worthy to be together for eternity. I am so thankful for Priesthood power that can bind us together here and for eternity and for the healing power it has. I wish we could see what the Lord sees and know what he knows it would make going through this life so much easier knowing we would have miracles happen, but then I guess there would be no test or need to endure our trials because we would know what the outcome would be. I'm thankful that we though He is so much wiser than us all we can still have faith in his plan. So after my babbling I guess I just want to say I love you Dad we miss you and hope to see you again soon. Until we meet again....

The hard truth from a child

I was talking with the girls this morning about David and trying to help them understand what was happening and that he may die soon. I told them it could even be before Christmas and this is what Kelsie said " Well that is a horrible early Christmas Present." She was quite disgusted that that would happen before Christmas. I think so too. We are still holding out hope for a miracle!

Christmas Already??

Christmas Already? You would think so at our house. Randy's family has had their tree and lights up since before Halloween and so the kids have been beggin to put our up and today we finally did it. I love it once it is up but I hate getting everything out and having the mess. Also trying to figure out where it is going to fit. I can't wait until we get a bigger place or get the other rooms built on. Oh well. The kids loved it though and Randy even set up Andrews new little train underneath the tree. He loved that. The girls got to put on their old stockings and things they have made at school over the years and it turned out pretty cute. I love the fancy decorations but I wish I had more kid stuff so we can remember that now. I also love the ornaments that we have started to collect as we have traveled it is fun to just reminisce. Andrew was waling around with the stockings on his hands because they wouldn't fit on his head saying ho ho ho so I guess he is ready too!!

Truckin' Along

Since Andrew is so into "Mac" off the movie "Cars" Uncle Mike let Andrew come and see his "Mac" truck that he drives. He was just leaving for California and Andrew got to get inside and take a look around. He also got to pull the horn and boy was he excited! He got back in the car and I asked if he had fun he said "Yeah HONK HONK" while moving his hand up and down it was so cute. He was grinning from ear to ear so thanks Uncle Mike for makin' his day!

Party Party Party!

So I am little behind on actually posting about Andrew's birthday party. We had a pretty good day that day and went out to lunch and then Party at Grandma and Grandpa's. Grandma Allred was out of town so she had a little time with Andrew a few days before and he finally got his "Mac" truck and some more cars. He is so into "Cars" and of coarse the only thing that comes close to that is trains especially "Thomas" He got another train set and also a Thomas train set. He has known about his train set since I bought it about 2 months ago and has been looking forward to his birthday so he could finally get it. He also got the new Thomas Movie that I'm sure we will be watching 24/7 and a fire engine that makes lots of joyful noises. He was loving it though. Since the birthday boy doesn't like cake we decided to go for ice cream and he is a lover of that so it was all good. Happy Birthday little boy!

Losee Family Pics

I took some family pics for my cousin and her cute little family. it was a lot of fun doing such a cute family the kids are so dang cute I can hardly stand it. They did pretty well too, sometimes we would get a smile sometimes we wouldn't but it was a good time. I hope you enjoy them Jenny and I have your disk ready next time we see you!

Happy Birthday Buddy BOY!

Happy Birthday Andrew! I can't believe my baby is already 3 years old. Time is just flying by. I will be grateful that at least he is potty trained. He is improving his speaking abilities which is helpful as well. At least I can understand him a little better. We were at lunch today for his birthday and he kept patting his bumb and trying to say sit only it was coming out as a swear word he just kept saying it over and over and louder and louder. Randy was starting to wonder what new words I am teaching him at home. But no, no cuss words sit and six and some of the other words he attempts to say all sound like Sh** you get the idea. Anyway I kind of think it's cute! As long as he doesn't figure out to really say the other word.
So Happy Birthday to my sweet little boy who has been such a joy in our family We love you Buddy!

Here is just another little update of events in our life, well life of my fam..... Mom left for Jerusalem today she will be back on the 26th. I hope she has a wonderful time and that she makes it home safely is my biggest concern. On a not so exciting note, David had been admitted to the hospital earlier this week and after running some tests they found the cancer is now in his stomach and making it hard for his body to digest food so they are considering a feeding tube that will probably be put in next week. We sincerely appreciate everyone's prayers on his behalf and know now we will need a miracle to keep him here if that is what the Lord has in store for him. But only time will tell.

Tender Mercies

I was taking the kids to school today and we were listening to a cd the primary gave them to help them with their primary program and the song " If the savior stood beside me" came on. As we were singing the 3rd verse I just had the most peaceful feeling come over me and also some tears.
Today is going to be a hard day for some of our family members and as I listened to the words I felt so blessed to have the spirit confirm the truthfulness of these simple words. " He is always near me though I do not see him there, and because he loves me dearly, I am in His watchful care."
I felt so loved at that moment and knew that he does know me like he knows each of us and he does love me like he loves each of us. I just considered this such a tender mercy that I was given today and I feel so blessed to know I have the ability to have the spirit with me always to confirm these truths. I have realized that sometimes we take that for granted. We don't realize how lucky and blessed we are to have the spirit be our constant companion.
I felt even more blessed when on the way home I had considered stopping by to see Randy for a minute and then decided against it since he wasn't answering his phone I figured he was busy. As we were driving down the boulevard there was a car coming from the other side of the car to turn into the lane next to me I wasn't too worried about that until I needed to swerve because another car had run a stop sign and had come clear out into my lane. My heart sped up to a thousand beats a minute and Andrew is saying "WHOA mom" I realized again how much we get watched over everyday in simple little ways. I just felt blessed we were able to avoid something that could have been much worse.
I guess that is my little thought for the day I am just feeling really blessed!

A better Look!

I wanted to post some better pictures of the girls in their costumes. I just loved them and I just thought it was so neat they really came from Spain. People asked if I made them if they knew me they would know I could barely sew a straight line. Something I should work on but oh well. They really were so cute in them. Thanks again Mar for bringing them back for us!

Kelsie's Big Day!!

        Kelsie's Allred Cousins

Kelsie's Big Day finally arrived. Saturday Nov. 1st Kelsie was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are so proud of her for making this special decision. It was a very special day for her. She woke up so excited and ready to get in her white dress. Grandma Richardson did her hair for her and then finally the time came to get in her dress. Randy was able to baptize and confirm her and he gave her a very wonderful blessing. She had a lot of support from family and friends and we feel so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives and in the lives of our children that they can look to for guidance and love. After the Baptism we went to the park for a little picnic and it was great visiting with everyone and just enjoying the day. I was even more relieved that the weather held out for us and it was a beautiful day. Today was fast Sunday and Kelsie remembered that when she woke up today that she would get to fast. She did a very good job I know it was hard for her. She kept saying she was hungry and Avrie kept offering her food but she refused and was a very big girl choosing the right already. She has been so excited about receiving a journal and is determined to write in it everyday. I hope she can. She has 2 entries already so she's off to a good start.

Friday was such a busy day. I took the girls to school and got them dressed in their costumes. They were flamingo dancers from spain. They called themselves "ladies from Spain" Their kindergarten teacher is from spain and when she went home last summer she brought the girls back these beautiful dresses that fit them perfectly. I stayed and helped out in Avrie's class most of the morning helping the kids decorate cupcakes. Then I took them to lunch with Randy. After lunch we headed back to the school just in time for the parade. They had such a good time. I got the best picture of Avrie just laughing. I hate to say she was laughing to hard because a boy in front of her tripped on a cone but she was laughing so hard it was making her cry. It made me think how funny and cute we think it is when a little baby laughs and I got the same enjoyment seeing her laugh it was great. Sorry about the little boy though. Anyway they had a good time. After school we went to get a few things for the lunch after Kelsie's baptism on Saturday nad while we were at the store the girls just couldn't stop laughing because everyone just kept saying how pretty they were and just loved their outfits as we were walking out of the store in the parking lot no kidding it was lady after lady we walked by "oh how pretty" "oh how cute" we laughed the whole way to the car they were so happy everyone thought they were beautiful. Oh coarse they are!. After the store we headed to Randy's work. They do trick or treating around the office and they made a haul there. After they had made the rounds there they handed out candy at Randy's desk. Then off to the trunk or treat at the church. Good turn out there and their cousins were able to come with them so they made it extra exciting and a good time for them.

How is she growing up so fast!

Kelsie went in for her first interview with the Bishop yesterday since she will be getting baptized on Saturday. I can't believe she is already 8 years old and ready to make such a huge choice but I am very proud of her. She has been so worried about this interview wondering what the bishop was going to ask. I told her last week he would probably ask if she was reading her scriptures and saying her prayers and she says" well I read with you in the morning and we have family prayer but I could start today" then she asked Randy what the Bishop was going to ask and he said he would probably ask if she was nice to her brother and sister. She pauses having to think about that one then says" what do I say" She was really getting worried. ( I think she realized she should be a little nicer) We told her to be honest, she tries hard. Well Bishop didn't ask her any of those things and she did just fine. She was so excited that she got to be his first baptism interview since he has become Bishop. We know how much she likes to be 1st. So Saturday is the big day and she is counting down it will be a great day with friends and family there to support her.

BYU GAME

Saturday was another home BYU game. So of coarse we went. We took David and Georgia with us and we had a good time.I was glad he was feeling good enough to go. I'm happy that BYU won even though they didn't play too hot. It was such good weather though so that was another plus for the day. Poor Randy got a little sunburned and only on one half of his face. Ben and David were teasing him saying he was ready for the BYU/Utah game. It was pretty funny. After the game we went to Tucanos. We had never been there before but had heard it was good like Rodizio Grill. I actually thought it was really yummy and cheaper than Rodizio. They didn't come around with the meat as much but it was all still really yummy and I left stuffed so I can't complain. I was just feeling bad I have this baby filling up so much space in my tummy or I definitely could have had more. Oh well. And did I mention it was YUMMY. Also a big thanks to Mom and Lisa for taking all of our kids. And so Ben does feel left out thanks to you too though I'm sure he wasn't watching the kids much ;D. They took the kids to meadow and they all had a blast playing at the park and seeing the tractors and even having great grandma flip them over her head. (A long time tradition with grandma) I was surprised she is still able to do that. I will have to post some pictures of it if I get them from mom. Anyway it was a good day and we even picked up clean bathed kids ready for church so it was great. Thanks mom and Lisa.
